Workflows and automations

A HighLevel workflow is not triggering

    Last verified

    Symptom
New leads or bookings come in, but the expected workflow never starts.
    Likely cause
The workflow is still in draft, trigger filters exclude the contacts you expect, or re-entry is disabled for contacts who already went through it.

    Applies to: Workflows, Triggers

    How to fix it

    1. Make sure it is published

A saved draft never runs. Confirm the workflow status is published.

    2. Review trigger filters

Open each trigger and check its filters. A narrow tag, form or calendar filter often excludes the contacts you expect.

    3. Check re-entry

If a contact already completed the workflow, they will not re-enter unless re-entry is allowed.

    4. Read the execution log

The log shows whether contacts entered and which step they stopped on.

    FAQ

Do edits apply to contacts already in the workflow?

Contacts generally continue on the path they are on. Test changes with a new contact.

Why did it work in testing but not live?

Test contacts often match filters that real leads do not. Compare a real lead's tags and source with your filters.
