Campaign rejected: sample messages don't match the use case (error 30893)

    Last verified

    Symptom
Your A2P 10DLC campaign was rejected with error 30893: inconsistency between the sample message and the use case.
    Likely cause
Sample messages are missing or unclear, use placeholder text like Test message, do not include your business name or opt-out language, or their content does not match the campaign's stated use case.

Applies to: A2P 10DLC campaign registration

    How to fix it

    1. Copy your real messages, not placeholders

Write samples that copy what will actually land on people's phones. A message like Test message or Hello tells the reviewer nothing and gets rejected.

    2. Include your business name and opt-out

At least one sample should start with your business name and include the opt-out instruction, such as Reply STOP to cancel.

    3. Mark variables with brackets

Indicate templated fields within sample messages using brackets, for example [First name] or [Appointment date], so the reviewer can see what changes per message.

    4. Check the use case matches, then resubmit

Make sure the samples fit the campaign use case — appointment reminders for a reminder campaign, offers for a marketing campaign — then resubmit the campaign for review.

The campaign submission was rejected due to inconsistencies between the sample message and the intended use case: samples are missing or unclear, or their content does not match the campaign's use case (1). Twilio's fix list: verify the samples are accurate and reflective of what you will actually send, indicate templated fields with brackets, include your business name and opt-out in at least one sample, provide at least two samples, and make sure the use case and campaign description align (1).

Two more common triggers are public URL shorteners like bit.ly, which are not accepted on 10DLC, and placeholder text such as Test message (2). If you run your numbers inside a platform such as HighLevel, the Trust Center may show only the word Rejected — ask support for the Twilio code so you fix the right thing (3).

    FAQ

How many sample messages do I need?

At least two. One of them should include your business name and the opt-out instruction.

Can I use a link shortener in my samples?

No. Public URL shorteners such as bit.ly are not accepted on 10DLC. Use a full https link on your own domain.
